Who sets the fee for dropping off garbage?

The Solid Waste & Recycling Commission has a Public Hearing and the fees are set at that time. The fees are based on the charges that must be paid to have waste hauled away and incinerated. The fees started in the 1980s. If a Resident does not want to bring the Trash to the Transfer Station and pay for it there, then they have to contract with a Licensed Hauler and pay them.
